Our family has been devoted to cattle breeding, selling fresh meat and making handcrafted sausages for four generations.
Great grandmother María had her own butcher’s shop in which she sold the only meat consumed at home at that time: pork and lamb. At a later date, grandfather Luis Gil, who learnt his trade as a child shepherding herds of sheep and goats, continued the family tradition of producing meats and sausages in the traditional way, which were then sold by grandmother Rosi in the village butcher’s shop for local consumption.
The third generation, led by our father, began to professionalize the family traditions. He set up the cold meats factory, which he named Luis Gil in honour of the entrepreneurial and fighting spirit of grandfather Luis.
Today, with the fourth generation fully engaged in the business, we have launched a project that further binds us to this land and allows us to produce sausages and organic fresh meat from our own farm . We raise our pigs in complete freedom and organically, slowly, in harmony with nature and man.
